If That Was A Real Memory...

I've played Juro, Fuyusaka and Megumi's routes up to the first lock in 13 Sentinels!

(I tried to commit to using surnames in my entries for the sake of consistency, but at this point I'm going to admit defeat and just use whatever name I find easier to remember. There are just so many names to learn. Plus it's hard to achieve the dream of consistency when the characters' names are canonically inconsistent.)

Riona: Haunted Amnesia Boy came home to find a girl in his house, and he went '??? what are you doing here? you're from my school, right? I think we're in the same year?' and she embraced him and said 'IT'S BEEN FORTY YEARS, I'VE MISSED YOUR TOUCH.'
Riona: This is a weird game and I'm enjoying it immensely.
RD: What is the top line plot of this game because I'm struggling
Riona: GOOD QUESTION
Riona: I think people are time-travelling around to fight world-destroying robots that are possibly also time-travelling?
Riona: Also there are two different characters with amnesia, one of whom comes from a different dimension, and there's a kid who hears a pop idol talking to him through the television, and there's a little alien robot that I think wants to help us, although I'm not certain, and Haunted Amnesia Boy (not to be confused with Other-Dimension Amnesia Boy) keeps having flashback dreams about doing terrible things when he was... older...?
RD: No

(Correction, having played slightly further: there are three different characters with amnesia.)

I love Juro's quiet, confused, terrified 'What?' when he overhears 'Even if we erased the personality of Juro Kurabe, it would be a futile effort.'

Juro's starting to consider the possibility that his dream of killing his friends was a real memory! He's horrified! I'm delighted.

Booooo, I've run out of Juro scenes for now.

It took me a long time to work out what I was supposed to do at the start of Fuyusaka's chapter, but then I was rewarded with great Juro/Fuyusaka material in the UFO flashback!

Juro is definitely a great candidate for pairing up with everyone. I'm so pleased.

The cat just called me a dumbass and commanded me to shoot someone.

'You shot him in the arm,' the cat observes. 'That'll do.'

The phrase 'Magical Gun' gets funnier every time anyone says it. (I also enjoyed 'a very non-magical gun'.)

As much as I love Juro, he does need to be less unkind to Megumi. You realise that, if you want to keep it a secret that you're living together, 'act like you're friends and therefore it's plausible that you might talk or come to school together' is going to be a lot less suspicious than 'DESPERATELY ACT LIKE YOU DON'T KNOW EACH OTHER', right?

I suppose he's uncomfortable around her because he's afraid he's going to kill her, but he's prepared to spend time with the other people he's dreamt about killing! 'This character is afraid he's going to kill his friends, but he's desperately trying to ignore that fear and keep hanging out with them' and 'this character is afraid he's going to kill his friends, so he pushes them away' are both excellent, but you've got to be consistent.

On another note entirely: now there are witches? We already had mechs and aliens and time travel, and now we also have witches?

I continue to know less about the plot of this game with every new scene, but I'm having such a good time I don't care.
