It's very funny to me that your list is mainly common bird types I've seen plenty of (although I imagine we might be seeing different species) and then THE MAJESTIC AMERICA BIRD, which I can only dream of seeing. I'd love to spot a bald eagle!

Also, 'gangly' is the perfect word for herons.
