DEEPLY DEPRESSING HIJINKS, HOORAY. At least in The Hunger Games I was only emotionally invested in a couple of the tributes; apparently I decided that it would be a great idea to apply this horrible concept to loads of characters I love.

Basically, I used it because it's a great quote and because, er, I suppose this entry describes a situation in which characters will often find themselves at the mercy of others. Subject line selection is more an art than a science.
